DreamQuest Games

DreamQuest Games is North Kitsap’s dedicated video game shop, tucked into Poulsbo Village Shopping Center just off Highway 305. Owner and sole employee Claire Hardison is a self-described tinkerer who opened the storefront in 2024 with a mission to serve gamers of every generation — from first-time players to lifelong collectors chasing down childhood favorites.

The inventory spans everything from Intellivision to Xbox Series X|S, Atari 2600 to Nintendo Switch, and Game Gear to 3DS — new, used, and hard-to-find titles across decades of gaming history. You can buy outright, trade your old games for store credit, or sell them for cash. A small selection of arcade and demo stations on the floor means there’s something to play while you browse.

What sets DreamQuest apart is the repair and restoration side of the business. Services include cartridge cleaning, save battery replacement for consoles and individual games, professional disc resurfacing (even GameCube discs), and basic maintenance like broken power jacks, worn control sticks, and sticky buttons. Console modifications are also available — think backlit Game Boys, RGB amplifiers, rechargeable battery upgrades, and replacement shells — all done without piracy modifications. Claire has overhauled everything from a GameBoy Color to a Sega Genesis and if a repair is beyond her current skillset, she’ll point you in the right direction.

DreamQuest also welcomes the shop as a safe meetup location for online marketplace transactions, and can help test and authenticate items on the spot.

Check their Facebook page (facebook.com/dreamquestgamez) for new arrivals — items posted there can be called in and held. Located at 19425 7th Ave NE, Suite 117, Poulsbo Village Shopping Center. Call (360) 620-2354 or visit dreamquest-games.com.

Poulsbo Candy Shoppe

Poulsbo Candy Shoppe is a family-owned fudge shop and old-fashioned candy retailer right in the heart of Historic Downtown Poulsbo, co-owned by mother-daughter duo Marsha Harris and Bekkie Elser. After closing their previous candy business in Snoqualmie during the pandemic, the family fell in love with Poulsbo on their very first drive through — and decided this was exactly where they wanted to put down roots and reopen their shop.

Fudge is the Candy Shoppe’s staple, with over 16 flavors made fresh right in the store — and on busy days, you might catch the team making a batch while you browse. Flavors rotate with the seasons and holidays, keeping things fresh for repeat visitors. Some standouts include Heath English Toffee, Strawberry Cheesecake, Huckleberry, and Rocky Road. Beyond fudge, the shop carries a wide assortment of nostalgic favorites: salt water taffy, jelly beans, lollipops, vintage candies, gummies, sour candy, licorice, Scandinavian items, PEZ, children’s novelties, caramel corn, and peanut brittle — all sold the old-fashioned way. Online shopping is also available through their website for curbside and shipping orders.

The Candy Shoppe fills a distinct niche with its emphasis on in-store made fudge and broad nostalgic candy selection, making it a natural double-stop for anyone with a sweet tooth exploring Front Street.

Open Tuesday–Wednesday 11am–5pm, Thursday 11am–5pm, Friday 11am–6pm, Saturday 11am–6pm, Sunday 11am–5pm. Closed Monday. Located at 18961 Front St NE, Suite 105, Poulsbo. Call (360) 930-8752 or visit poulsbocandyshoppesweets.com.

Viking City Bricks

Viking City Bricks is Poulsbo’s dedicated LEGO destination — a cheerful, meticulously organized shop tucked into the Lindvig Way corridor right next door to Rockin’ Ruby’s Records. Owner Mary and her team have built a store that caters equally to wide-eyed kids discovering LEGO for the first time and seasoned adult collectors hunting down something rare.

The inventory covers a wide range: new sets across all the major themes (Star Wars, Harry Potter, Ninjago, City, Technic, Friends, Marvel, Speed Champions, and more), plus used and retired sets that can be genuinely hard to find elsewhere. Bulk brick bins let you dig for individual pieces to complete a build or replace a missing part, and a dedicated minifigure case displays collectible figures sold individually. Pricing is consistently praised by customers as fair and competitive.

The store’s standout feature for younger visitors is the build-your-own minifigure station — a hands-on experience that lets kids customize their own LEGO character to take home. It’s the kind of touch that turns a quick browse into a full-on adventure.

Conveniently located just off downtown Poulsbo and an easy stop whether you’re arriving by car or exploring the Lindvig Way area. Check their Facebook page for new arrivals and special promotions.

Rockin’ Ruby’s Records

Rockin’ Ruby’s Records is Kitsap’s go-to destination for music lovers — a warm, browsable record store tucked into the Lindvig Way corridor just off downtown Poulsbo. What started as a mobile music van rolling between breweries and festivals around the west Puget Sound launched its first brick-and-mortar location here in Poulsbo in April 2023, and the shop has been a local favorite ever since.

The inventory spans thousands of new and used records across vinyl, CD, and cassette, with something for every genre and generation. Alongside the music you’ll find guitars, amplifiers, turntables, hi-fi gear, books, t-shirts, and accessories — plus a rotating lineup of pinball and arcade games that give the shop a uniquely fun, hang-around atmosphere. They also carry their own Ruby’s branded merch for the die-hards.

Not just a place to shop — Rockin’ Ruby’s is a place to connect. The staff are knowledgeable, the conversation is easy, and the buy/sell/trade setup means every visit might turn up something unexpected. Online shopping is available through their website for pre-orders, collectibles, local music, and more.

Open Monday–Friday noon–6pm, Saturday 11am–6pm, Sunday noon–5pm. Located at 279 NW Lindvig Way, Suite A, Poulsbo. Call (360) 930-9140 or visit rockinrubys.com.
