One of Poulsbo’s best-kept secrets, Wilderness Park is an 11.5-acre forested retreat sitting right in the middle of the city — just across from North Kitsap High School on Caldart Avenue. The easy 1-mile out-and-back trail winds through dense Pacific Northwest forest along Dogfish Creek, with wooden bridge crossings, shaded canopy, and the kind of quiet that makes you forget you’re steps from downtown. Rated 4.2 stars on AllTrails, it’s a favorite for a quick morning walk, an after-school nature break, or a dog-friendly stroll (leashes required). Wilderness Park also connects to the Park to Park Loop — a 1.56-mile trail linking Wilderness Park and Raab Park via a mix of paved and natural surface trail with some elevation gain. Best access is from the North Kitsap High School parking lot, crossing Caldart Avenue to the trailhead. Free to visit, open year-round.

Ma Façon TR is one of the most extraordinary culinary finds on the Kitsap Peninsula — a French-inspired patisserie and café on Historic Front Street, born from the creative partnership of two internationally trained chefs. Chef Tae Tran, who won the 2014 Salon du Chocolat Seattle Competition and spent time studying at the Paul Bocuse Institute in Paris, and Chef Tamas Ronyai, whose culinary journey began in Budapest and includes a WSCA Chef of the Year title, have brought true European pastry craft to downtown Poulsbo. “Ma Façon” is French for “My Way,” and every item reflects that spirit — from the pistachio raspberry tart and vanilla crème brûlée pastry to the millionaire’s shortbread, almond bostock, scotch eggs baked in puff pastry, Reuben panini, and freshly laminated croissants pulled straight from the oven. The cozy space invites lingering over a latte and a board game. Pre-order available for seasonal items. Open Thursday–Monday 8am–4pm, closed Tuesday–Wednesday.
