Kachai Thai Kitchen is one of Poulsbo’s most heartfelt dining stories. The restaurant’s roots trace back to San and Lani Tran, who arrived on Bainbridge Island from a refugee camp in Thailand in the early 1980s and opened their first Thai restaurant, Sawatdy, in 1992 — with all nine of their children working alongside them. That family legacy lives on at Kachai, where authentic Thai flavors are prepared with the care and craft of a family that has been feeding Kitsap County for decades. The menu features classic Thai favorites — pad Thai, curries, soups, noodles, and fresh stir-fry dishes — made with quality ingredients and traditional technique.
