Description
Dedicated in 2008 to celebrate Poulsbo’s first 100 years, Centennial Park is a serene green space tucked near downtown — and one of the city’s most distinctive natural gems. The park sits on the site of a former nursery, which means visitors are treated to an impressive collection of mature, unique trees that were already flourishing long before the park took shape.
In recent years, the park has been thoughtfully enhanced through community volunteer efforts, including the creation of soft-surface walking trails, restoration of riparian habitat along Dogfish Creek, and the development of a dedicated arboretum. The Poulsbo Tree Board expanded the Centennial Park Arboretum with additional plantings and interpretive tree identification signage, making it a lovely spot for a self-guided nature walk. A downloadable arboretum tour map is available through the City of Poulsbo’s website.
Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to connect with nature, explore local ecology, or simply enjoy a peaceful stroll among beautiful trees, Centennial Park offers a restorative escape just steps from the heart of downtown Poulsbo.
