DESCRIPTION:As many as 100 pirates boats are expected to show up for the 18th annual PNW Cruisers Party\, a pirate-themed rendezvous that draws attendees year after year with its raucous\, fun-loving vibe. \nWhile the event attracts mostly sailors\, it’s open to anyone and registration isn’t needed – just show up. \nThe party is an annual tribute to the cruising lifestyle\, a celebration of freedom with certain recurring elements including live music\, attendees decked out in pirate gear\, plenty of liquid refreshments and frequent cannon fire (pet owners beware). We’ll have blindfolded dinghy races\, pirate dance Saturday night with a best dressed pirate contest. Local ale on tap\, potluck dinner Saturday night on the docks. Vendors selling pirate gear. Possibly a piñata for the kids. And more. \nThe event gets underway Friday night with live music on the docks by local trop-rock favorite Dave Calhoun. \nAdmission is free. \nFull events agenda is coming soon.

DESCRIPTION:This free family event\, will offer visitors to the Port of Poulsbo an opportunity to learn about docking\, navigation rules\, knot tying\, fire extinguisher use\, flare demos\, and most importantly how to handle emergencies in order to keep you and your loved ones safe. There will be free vessel safety checks for those that bring a boat. Vessels the have all required equipment will receive a current Marine Safety Inspection decal. \nALSO! There will be children’s activities for the little ones! A Youth poster contest\, Police and Fire patrol boat tours\, Boating Safety 4 Kids program with the PFD Seagulls\, and kids can meet “Walter” (which stands for Washington’s All-equipped Law Enforcement Training and Education Resource boat)! \nFinally a United States Coast Guard helicopter flyby is scheduled at 1pm to 1:30pm (flyby is subject to weather and availability).
