SUMMARY:Opening Artist Reception with Laurie Barmore
DESCRIPTION:Join us Thursday\, February 15th for our opening artist recepetion for Laurie Barmore. Her collection is Whispering Woodland. \n“This small collection of paintings is a part of a larger body of work that employs the metaphorical template of mosses and tree roots as my subject. The impact of changing climate and human carelessness can be devastating to the sustaining of our rain forests. In imagining what the loss would mean to me\, you\, and all creatures who dwell amongst the trees\, I stand quietly so I might catch the soft whispers of their story.” \nLaurie Barmore has been an abstract painter for 25 years. She relocated to the PNW a few years ago after leaving a long career as a Critical Care RN. When not painting\, she enjoys collecting rocks\, limpet shells\, and driftwood off the beach\, wandering used books stores\, and journaling.
